Parvo and Distemper are two diseases that are usually fatal to dogs.  Puppies are especially susceptible to those diseases.  In Garden City, hundreds of dogs and puppies die each year because they have not been vaccinated.  In an effort to stop the deaths, the Finney County Humane Society is offering 3 free vaccination clinics for 2010.  You must be a resident of Finney County to be eligible.

The clinics will be March 27th, April 24th, and May 22nd.  They will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. in the garage area of the new Animal Shelter at 124 N. Fleming.  All dogs must be on a leash and accompanied by the owner so that a release of liability form can be signed.  There is no limit to the number of dogs that each owner can bring.  Litters of puppies are welcome.  Puppies need a series of vaccinations, 3 to 4 weeks apart, starting at age 6 weeks.

These clinics are NOT meant to replace professional veterinarian care.  These clinics are meant to meet the needs of those that do not get regular health care for their dogs.
