Hot Dog!
We are one week away from our 2nd annual Pet Expo! One of the most popular events last year was the Pet Costume Contest. If you need a reason to smile and laugh, come to the West Pavilion at the Finney County Fairgrounds at 2:00 to see pets dressed as spiders, super heroes and fairy princesses! Our line-up of judges includes Mayor Nancy Harness and city councilmen Reynaldo Mesa and John Doll.
Another event we are very excited about is the Flyball Competition. A flyball team from Wichita will be here to demonstrate their sport and may even let your pet athlete give it a try! The GC Kennel Club will give obedience and agility demonstrations and the pointers and retrievers get into the act with field trials showing off their talents.
Vendor booths featuring pet clothing, pet nutrition and other items will be on hand. Local businesses have been very generous in donating awesome products and services for bid in our silent auction. From framed prints and birdbaths, to haircuts, hotel stays and food…there is certainly something for everyone!
If you come early for the Dog Jog and stay over the lunch hour for the Expo, the FCHS society will operate a concession stand. Sloppy Joes, chili frito pies and BBQ from Webb’s will be served.
We are proud to be able to help out the forgotten animals of this community. Won’t you share your pampered pets with us on this day and be a part of the effort?
